In 2023, the Institute sought to hear from the survivors themselves about their experiences in recovery. Specifically, given that 66% of trafficking shelters in the U.S. identify as Christian programs, we wanted to find out how various faith practices were helping—or hurting—survivor progress. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to define some of the relational struggles our clients experience; understand the reasons for the struggles; apply this information in real time situations with survivors; consider past survivor interactions with staff and each other and recognize reasons for those behaviors; and integrate new ways of approaching the struggles survivors have with interpersonal relationships.
